SO WHAT DO YOU DO IN AWANA?

Each night at AWANA the kids will participate in large group teaching time where they will learn about the Bible, play games, and meet with leaders during small group time. Some nights, there will be themes such as crazy hair night or superhero night. We also have mission projects and service opportunities. A key feature of AWANA is scripture memorization. Each child receives a handbook once they complete their entrance booklet. In the handbooks are verses to memorize. We want children to commit scripture to memory so it is, as we read in Psalm 119:11, hidden in their hearts.

FIVE REASONS TO MEMORIZE SCRIPTURE:

  1. The Bible is true and flawless (Psalm 119:60, Psalm 18:30)

  2. The Bible’s truth will last forever (Prov 30:5, Is 40:8)

  3. The Bible shows us how to live, to avoid sin, and make wise decisions

(2 Tim 3:16-17, Psalm 119:105, 130, Mat 7:24)

  4. The Bible strengthens our faith (Rom 10:17, Rom 15:4)

  5. Knowing the Bible pleases God (Prov 7:1-3, I John 5:3)

Middle School

7th-9th Grade

Teacher: Mike & Melissa Fannin

This new program challenges students to wrestle with the three most important questions they’re asking in middle school: Who am I? Why am I here? Who’s with me?

By allowing students to dive deep into the Scriptures and answer these questions for themselves we allow them to own their faith and discover what they actually believe.
